Hello Crafters!
This is week 4th at Case Study 4th Anniversary! They are featuring their former muses, present and past Design Team Girls!!! It has a week full of great inspirations and amazing projects!!! I had a hard time to decide which muse to case, all were so talented.
Then, I chose the very talented girl Iwona Palamountain , she has created a stunning mixed media journal page, you can watch at her blog http://www.ipalamountain.com/2014/08/case-study-4th-anniversary-blog-hop/, how she has created this master piece by showing slideshow.....here is her amazing creation......
I amused when I saw this creation , The hand drawn image, the detailing, coloring and layering, back grounding all are so perfect!!!
But I decided to make a card instead of journal page.
Here is my take ......
This is the first time I had done a mixed media card with art journaling and it won't be the last! Thank you so much Iwona for the great inspiration:).
"Art is a harmony parallel to the nature", basically this harmony emerge from music. We all know that music is origin of every art. So , basically my creation is based on this theme depicting an Indian beauty writing a word "Alankar" on a Tadpatra using a Kalam(pen).
My image is hand drawn image on a watercolor sheet and inspired by the book cover page Alankar by an great Indian Artist" Chaman". It took me some time to think that how to give her a traditional look using mixed media without loosing the simplicity. Hope I am able to capture the impressions.
Have tried to use different textures on the background and shades. I brought her to life. I used my old poster water colors and drew some zetangles shapes using 0 no. brush. I choose red, black, white, mehandi color(using sap green + light brown), to color the image and fussy cut out her.
I started the background on watercolor sheet using gelatos, distress inks, shimmers, metallic acrylic colors, distress markers using stenciling, stamping, masking and few splatters.
I added some random musical note patterns. I added some texture with homemade texture paste and gave them a faded and shabby look. I used my chipboard flourish piece as for stamping behind the beautiful lady
I matted my image on a floral bed using PP for her. I added a journaling- "Music is the food for the soul. it makes one feel so romantic". This message has meaning and inspiration for me on so many levels.
The sentiment Forever is heat embossed in sliver on a soft green pastel coloured vellum. Then I matted the whole creation on a green coloured CS and placed it on a white CS.
It was so much fun!!! Love how this turned out:)
Mixed media is so much fun, There is no such thing as being perfect and it's a great way to experiment with color, techniques and different products.
I hope you enjoyed my project today. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and for all lovely comments you guys are leaving me, they make my day!

I started the background on watercolor sheet using gelatos, distress inks, shimmers, metallic acrylic colors, distress markers using stenciling, stamping, masking and few splatters.
Here are the close ups with different angles:
I stamped some butterflies on a watercolor sheet using archival black ink. I coloured the butterflies wings using distress markers by wetting technique, added some metallic shimmer mists and glossy accent on it for more 3D look.
I matted my image on a floral bed using PP for her. I added a journaling- "Music is the food for the soul. it makes one feel so romantic". This message has meaning and inspiration for me on so many levels.
