Journey

Hello everyone!

Happy Sunday!

Yellow and red are hot, cheery and summery colors and this fun card with a CAS beauty is ready for a new journey with a Vespa scooter to celebrate Grandparents Day! My Grandfather loved to ride on a scooter and he loved his scooter very much! So in loving memory, I made this journey card!

To create the background I used whisper white CS, embossed with a Linen organic 3D embossing folder and I again dry embossed it with Journey sentiment strip at the bottom.

The cute Vespa scooter is die-cut 5 times out of the snippets of white, red, black lemon yellow and deep yellow CS. And arranged the pieces on the dry embossed die-cut scooter design.

Enjoy the ride!
Happy crafting!

Everything starts with a Dream Mixed Media Canvas Layout!

 Hello everyone!

Happy Wednesday!

I want to showcase my canvas layout in a bright spring palette to gift my daughter!

The base of the composition was a MDF cutouts in the form of a door and windows. The background is made with a stencil, and texture paste on a pattern paper with clear gesso. I then sprayed some of the mists and blended them together with a wet paintbrush.

I added a green corrugated sheet at the top of the canvas.

Gave a coat of chalk paint at all 4 corners and using a stencil applied the texture paste.

I added a scrap pice to the window with red tacky tape to attach the window shutter.

I now continue to add more embellishments and once they are all in place I applied gesso and some more paste to the flowers, door and window.

Some close-ups:

Handmade flowers, pollens, resin embellishments and some tiny sequins completed the composition! And they gave the very atmosphere of spring flowers.

Hope you all like it!

Happy crafting!

Mixed media Cherry Blossom Journal layout page!

 Hello everyone!

Happy Tuesday! I hope you are doing great!

You all know I am a versatile artist and always love to experiment with new things!

http://allsortschallenge.blogspot.com/2022/08/ag-or-create-background-winners.html

Today I wish to share my latest creations with all of you!

Those pages are made just for myself... in the evening... to relax and enjoy the creative process!

I love playing with stencils and colours which create the most amazing textured backgrounds!

Incorporating mixed media into your layouts always help my imagination run wild. Add depth, texture and color to just about anything and surprise me with just how creative we can be!

The average person sees things in their most obvious colors and context. An artist, however, sees things in other ways..... details in shadings, proportions and balance. They sense subtle tones, moods and emotions at a different level and intensity, and how or what, a subject is expressing!

I added lots of transfer sheets, handmade flowers, textures, foliage, and butterfly. I created textures and designs to make my background first to add a lot of dimension to my layout!

People think of spring, they think of flowers. But in Japan, there is one particular flower that comes to my mind --- the cherry blossom or the Sakura. Perhaps the most iconic symbol of springtime in the Land of the Rising Sun. The cherry blossom is highly regarded - revered almost - by the Japanese. Its delicate pastel pink or white hue inspired me, striking beauty and its poignant fleetingness have all combined to give it a special place in my heart, their culture, art and philosophy!

I added lots of transfer sheets to create this beautiful window scene with full of pink blossoms.

Added some script stamping too.

Added a fabric texture scrap behind my window for more interest.

Hopefully, this beautiful Journal layout page will inspire you!

Happy crafting!
